Quality Of Seeds
Gourmet popcorn is grown under the most optimal conditions available in the world. In fact, popcorn has a history in the Americas that dates thousands of years prior to the advent of the microwave. While the microwave is conveniently beneficial in food preparation time, we believe its use has skewed modern appreciation for popcorn's natural consistency and taste.
Naturally produced popcorn isn't as light as Styrofoam. Nor does it have the chew of puffed rice. It is naturally chewy (when oil-popped), with medium-bodied consistency, is flavorfully tasty, and is by National Cancer Institute standards "roughage", designed to aid digestion.
Our seeds enjoy the lavish attention, usually devoted to the most premium quality wine producing grapes, in a unique part of the world which boasts a dry climate, combined with warm sunny days and cool nights. These conditions, along with a 100% irrigation process, are superb for the production of our high quality popcorn varieties.
Each seed is carefully inspected for density, size, and color to insure consistency in quality each year. The freshness continues in the manner by which packaging and storage is performed with moderate temperatures of less than 70 degrees. One might think of our process as a relaxing day spa for seeds to provide flavor that shows up in every package of Atlanta Gourmet Popcorn we serve.
